The Bloomfield Police Department is once again accepting monetary donations to assist in the annual "Bless this Dinner" holiday program. Bless this Dinner started in 2006 with the delivery of food baskets to local citizens that have at least one parent employed but having a difficult time during the Holiday Season. Due to the generous donations from the community and businesses the program has grown over the years to include shopping at our local Pamida department store providing hats, coats and gloves to children and at least one toy to open Christmas Morning. The Bloomfield IGA donates Turkeys for the food basket and Pamida gives us a local place to shop for quality clothing, good selection and at reasonable prices. Applications may be submitted at the Family Life Center located on the east side of the square, Bloomfield, Indiana. Applicants must be a resident of Bloomfield. Children considered are from birth to the age of 12. Shopping and basket delivery will be on December 21st 2009. Monetary donations may be mailed or delivered to the Bloomfield Police Department at 12 East Main St., Bloomfield, Indiana 47424, 8a-4p Mon-Fri. If you would like more information regarding the "Bless this Dinner" program you may email at marshal@bloomfieldpd.com with any questions.
